Job Title: SMT Operator – A Shift
Job Type: Permanent / Direct Hire

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operating automated SMT Pick and Place machines performing routine set-up, operation and adjustments
- Experience using the IPC-A-610 Class II and III Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies Standards
- Performs preventive maintenance activities on the SMT machines (Screen Printer, Pick & Place, Oven, Washer)
- Generates and maintains documentation on PM and equipment maintenance activities (check sheets, standard reports, justifications, scheduling, etc.)
- Performs corrective actions as required
- Responsible to verify that standard operation of every machine prior to daily use
- Generate report for all trouble encounters in the process
- Ability to record production data supporting the Quality Assurance processes
- Responsible for daily activities that minimize rework
- Perform manual component placement.
- Ensure required materials and documentation is available prior to start of build
- Support area 5S, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings to review 5S, metrics, and KPIs focused on continuous improvement
- Support Continuous Improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, continuous flow, kanban, visual controls)
- Perform related duties as assigned by manager or group lead
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Supports OT requirements as needed
- Stop production when required if product(s) do not meet standard
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- 8+ years experience in all aspects of building SMTPCB assemblies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong listening skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- High school diploma or GED required
- Computer literate
- IPC-610 Certification
- Basic component identification skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
