MKS Instruments is seeking an innovative and results-oriented leader to lead its Worldwide Sales Teams. In this newly created position, the SVP Worldwide Sales will play a central role in driving profitable growth through the creation and implementation of a strategic sales model, go-to-market strategy, and processes to enable scalability. Utilizing best practices, advanced approaches, and proven sales methodologies, this person will lead the creation and implementation of best-in-class sales strategies to be delivered in a decentralized fashion throughout the company’s operating locations.

Develop and implement overall revenue growth plans, and initiatives; q
Establish and meet revenue objectives consistent with aggressive growth targets.
Continue to build, train, and mentor a strong sales organization; develop a top performing sales team with the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to effectively grow their accounts; train, coach, and develop the local sales management and provide them with the tools to get the most from their sales teams.
While fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of the company, develop and implement best in class processes to support growth targets.
Define job accountabilities, measurements, and performance expectations for the sales, service and customer service staff.
Maintain a keen sense of marketplace intelligence of trends and competition in the Photonics and Semi business in order to provide market leading perspectives, emerging trends, tools, and techniques that can be effectively utilized to develop and promote success.
Develop, execute, and measure programs that profitably drive sales revenues.
Collaborate with business units to ensure the timely execution of the quarterly and annual sales tactics.
Where gaps with targets exist, review and recommend corrective action strategy; monitor progress against stated strategies and provide guidance to re-align or re-focus efforts; includes financial metrics.
Make a strong contribution to the management of the organization and have a positive influence on peers, subordinates, and other employees of the company.
Work closely with operations to coordinate the company’s sales and customer service activities across functional and geographic boundaries to ensure consistent service.
CRM and Database Analytics
Business ownership and leadership for company’s customer database and Customer Relationship Management processes and systems.
Develop Customer Metrics and Reporting capabilities tied to business and financial results, as well as Customer KPIs.
Market Competitive Intelligence
Primarily through use of external data sources, identify competitor strengths, weaknesses, business potential, and market share.
Key metrics or KPIs for this role include:profitable sales growth, operational productivity, sales expense management, and staffing/organizational development.
Plan and forecast all expenses and investments including overseeing the successful development of the annual Sales budget.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
15+ years of executive sales management experience in a business to business environment with top line revenues of at least $2B.
Experience managing and selling into the semiconductor capital equipment ecosystem and/or selling laser-centric photonics solutions into industrial markets, a plus.
Managing sales of complex solutions to an OEM customer base, essential.
Demonstrated success building and leading a process-oriented, metrics-driven, fast-paced sales organization across multiple continents, business units, and end markets.
Proven experience devising and implementing best sales practices in a decentralized operating environment where the customer relationship is primarily business to business
Skilled in strategic general business management, visionary planning, analyzing, and decision making.
Effective organization, team-building, mentoring, general leadership and sales strategy development experience.
Successful experience with mergers and acquisitions to include sourcing and integration.
Business builder with a track record of developing and closing new business in strategic market verticals and exceeding sales objectives and quotas.
Proven reputation for building and maintaining sound professional relationships/partnerships; excellent, value- based negotiator.
Demonstrated successful track record of personally establishing and maintaining major relationships with large accounts and large contracts.
Must possess the ability to motivate, influence, and demonstrate leadership and innovation at all levels of the business.
Flexible, comfortable dealing with a high degree of ambiguity and able to adapt rapidly as the business evolves.
