Chattanooga Seating Systems is a joint venture between Magna Seating and Hollingsworth Logistics. We are located in Chattanooga, Tennessee and supply seats to the Volkswagen Plant.
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for the promotion and enforcement of quality standards within the quality department as defined in the Chattanooga Seating Systems Quality manual with an emphasis on internal development and adherence to internal corrective actions and procedures
* Manage all aspects of the supplier relationship to ensure excellent supplier service and delivery; * Manage all customer chargebacks and billing; * Review all internal scrap to ensure correct disposition; * Ensure supplier compliance with IATF:16949 requirements and monitor corrective actions when required; * Perform supplier process audits; * Monitor supplier performance, product quality and product launches to ensure CSS requirements are met; * Manage and maintain the supplier database (QPF); * Prepare various weekly, monthly, and annual quality reports; * Perform Supplier Training for 8D, Problem Solving techniques, APQP; * Assess corrective actions received from internal corrective actions - follow-up and verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions and record all objective evidence to support closure; * Interact with Materials department on issues pertaining to shipment rejections or major on-line rejections; * Maintain Quality hold are * Maintain PPAP files for internal components (initial and ongoing engineering changes) including part history of seats; * Perform internal audits of the Quality & Environmental systems (IATF:16949 & ISO-14001) as required; * Enter data received from customer complaints, customer returns, internal Quality data, liaison reports, etc and update charts for operations display boards; * Support as proxy for core duties of VW liaison, VW lineside, and Quality Technician; * All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Education
* Graduate of a secondary education preferred, specifically in a technical field, preferred:
* Three to five years in the quality field in a technical capacity in automotive assembly or manufacturing environment; * Experience with inspection of components and Quality skills experience preferred;
Skills and Competencies
* Adept with problem solving methodologies including Root Cause Analysis; * Knowledge of all Quality concepts and phases including: PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and control plans; * Good communication, organizational skills, and self-motivated; * Ability to work any shift schedule according to business needs; * Experience with computers and math skills.
