Minnesota Eye Consultants is one of the premiere eye care practices in the nation. The team of providers at Minnesota Eye is comprised of sub-specialty trained surgeons, non-surgical ophthalmologists, and fellowship trained doctors of optometry. Our areas of expertise range from cataract surgery and premium lens implants, treatment of corneal disease and glaucoma, oculofacial and aesthetic services, to LASIK – laser vision correction and other total eye care or specialty offerings. With six Twin Cities locations and over 20 physicians, we are committed to delivering both medical and surgical services in a convenient, community setting.
We are the only anterior segment private practice in the Twin Cities area that has a dedicated research department committed to improving patient care. We participate in FDA investigational studies and studies for FDA approved devices. At any given time, we typically have 15-20 active clinical studies in process. A Surgical Technician (ST), under the supervision of the RN, will prepare supplies, equipment and instrumentation for each surgery performed at the ASC. The ST will assist the physician with the maintenance of the sterile field and all supplies for each surgery. The ST will assist the Nurse Manager in the maintenance of the supply inventory. He/she will be responsible for the decontamination and reprocessing of surgical instrumentation.
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program and a minimum of one year experience as a Surgical Technician. Ophthalmology experience strongly preferred. Surgical Technician certification is strong preferred. Must have current BLS certification or must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
This position is full time, 32 hrs, four days per week. No nights, weekends, on call, or holidays. Normal start time is between 6:00-6:30am, and candidate selected must have the ability to be flexible and work up to 8-10 hour shifts. Please indicate location preference in application.
