The System Medical Director Wound Care, in collaboration with the Administrative Director, provides clinical leadership and direction for the medical and professional treatment services provided in the designated wound care centers. The Medical Director will provide guidance for best practice, quality, and cost effective care across the ministry including proper documentation and adherence to regulatory standards regarding treatment of wound care patients. The Medical Director will assist in developing appropriate metrics and standards to be monitored by each regional facility regarding provider performance, outcomes, quality and patient safety.
Essential Job Functions
Works collaboratively with regional directors and partners with market leaders to ensure wound care service achieves goals for quality, value and growth.
Collaborates with regional providers in the development of system wide best practice and clinical protocol standardization
Provide system performance updates to the Chief Medical Affairs Officer
Meets with regional directors and service line leadership to monitor performance and improvement opportunities
Participate in professional development activities and education for providers
Represent BSMH in a professional manner
Participate in growth, marketing strategy and recruitment efforts for the service line
Collaborate with market leaders to maintain appropriate accreditation for the centers
Maintain clinical skills in direct patient care on a limited basis

MD/DO with board certification in specialty
Specific wound care training and experience
Unrestricted state medical license
5 years clinical wound care experience with 2 years in a medical director role
Certified in Hyperbaric medicine
Treatment of complex wounds including use of graft coverage techniques
