Description
The tire press operation is a set process which includes operating a forklift, lifting and rolling tires, loading and unloading the tire press, and removing and installing tires on the forklifts. This process may be repeated 15-20+ times per day, depending on business demands.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Replace tires on forklifts.
b) Operate the forklift safely.
c) Operate the tire press safely.
d) Position body to safely remove, roll, and position tires on the press using the lift table.
e) Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies and outside purchases in repairs.
f) Maintain and care for tools, equipment and forklifts.
g) Assist with loading and unloading of tires.
h) Participate in the Bailey Company’s safety, training, and environmental sustainability programs, and maintaining licenses and certifications to avoid expirations.
i) Represent Bailey as a professional by maintaining professional appearance, wearing uniform, keeping the work areas clean, and being courteous and informative with customers.
j) Handle other duties and special projects as assigned

The individual in this position should be safety conscious, reliable, and able to work with tools and machinery safely and effectively.
Education/Training/Experience:
* A technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
* Strong mechanical skills
* Good communication skills
* Good, safe work habits
* Strong diagnostic and repair skills
License(s) or Certification(s) Required:
* Forklift Certification
Personal Protective Equipment Required:
* Steel toed, non-slip, work boots
* Leather gloves, rubber gloves
* Safety glasses, as necessary
* Hearing protection, as necessary
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Daily Caution Zones: Total 2 or more hours per day
Awkward Posture
* Sitting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling
* Standing while working for periods of 30 minutes or more at a time
* Lifting heavy objects ( over 80 lbs) slightly off ground using foot as lever and rolling
High Hand Force
* Gripping an unsupported object weighing 10 or more pounds per hand or gripping with a force of 10 or more pounds per hand: In addition to other tools, the jack and impact gun are used throughout the day.
Moderate to High Hand-Arm Vibration
* Impact gun (high vibration levels) is used throughout the day
Working Area
* Standing, squatting or kneeling around forklift
* Exposure to hot and cold weather, warm and cool warehouses
* Slip and fall hazards, wet floors
* Compression, pinch, and cut hazards working around tires
* The impact gun creates excessive noise and require hearing protection
Daily Caution Zones: Total 1 hour per day
Heavy Lifting
* Lifting objects weighing more than 50 pounds when helping load unload tires
Occasional Caution Zones: Once a week or less
Repeated Impact
* Using the hand (heel/base of palm) or knee as a hammer
