The Division of Intra-Abdominal Transplantation, at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine is searching for an outstanding, highly motivated surgeon to join the Transplant team. The transplant program has had annual growth for the past three years and performs liver, kidney, live donor kidney and pancreas transplantation. They are also more definitively incorporating hepatobiliary surgery into the practice. An ASTS Transplant Surgery Fellowship has been established and will welcome their first fellow in 2020.
The Division is seeking a transplant surgeon to be an active member of the team and contribute to education, outstanding outcomes in clinical care, and supporting the academic mission.
The selected candidate should be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. They must have completed an ASTS certified program or a program of equivalent certification, be board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Surgery, and be licensed to practice in the State of Illinois at the time of hire. The ability to independently perform deceased donor liver and kidney transplants is required. Hepatobiliary training, laparoscopic or robotic skills to perform live donor nephrectomy is preferred. Preference will also be given to candidates who have UNOS live donor liver qualifications.
