Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Lubbock Texas, is seeking board eligible or board certified candidates for an Endocrinology & Metabolism Faculty position under the Department of Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will have the extraordinary opportunity to join TTUHSC at an exciting period of transition and growth. The candidate should have exemplary clinical skills, a team spirit, collegiality and an interest in teaching and/or clinically based scholarly activity. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience.
The Department of Internal Medicine is the largest clinical department at TTUHSC School of Medicine which houses 10 divisions that include Allergy and Immunology, Cardiology, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Gastroenterology, General Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, and Rheumatology. There are 46 full time faculty, 10 part time faculty, 48 internal medicine residents, 28 subspecialty fellows, 10 post docs and 8 full time research faculty. Furthermore, there are 150 affiliate and clinical faculty in the department in addition to the full time faculty who participates in the teaching of the trainees. Also included in the department are more than 150 staff. The research mission is funded through multiple National Institutes of Health and Department of Defense funding along with a robust clinical trials program. It is a priority for the Department of Internal Medicine and School of Medicine to grow the clinical and academic missions of the division of Endocrinology and Metabolism. The division provides service in both the clinic and hospital settings.
- Inpatient and outpatient clinical service with primary focus on management of endocrine related disorders.
- Teach, supervise, and mentor medical students and residents on Endocrinology service.
- Clinical translational or basic science research experience and interest is a plus.
