Essential Job Duties:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in carrying out the mission of the Facilities Accounting Office which serves to support the overall goals and objectives of the Facilities Division. This position supports the Accounting Manager. The position will oversee the daily functions of the accounting unit which includes A/P, A/R, asset management, security access requests, billings, collections, and financial reporting. This position will be the team lead for three accounting technicians. This position will personally manage the small and large inventory processes, security access requests, and will back up the Accounting Manager in the billing processes. The supervisor works on monthly accounting operations using PeopleSoft Financials, AiM and EBS. Position supports accounting adjustments maintaining the integrity of the PeopleSoft. Position manages various software systems to update Asset Manager, AiM Travel/Training, Security Access for division employees and the general ledger system. Position maintains the business continuity plan. The incumbent will maintain a high level of accuracy in a timely and punctual manner.

Bachelor's degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or Associate's degree in Accounting; or Associate's degree in Business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Departmental Required Skills:
Must be able to manage team of Accounting professionals in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, SAR, Asset Management, Collections and Financial Management utilizing all GAAP principles, State of NC regulations and University and departmental policies. Must be able to effectively manage a professional staff and deliver quality and timely results with limited oversight.

The 900+ positions of the Facilities Division service the students and staff of the University’s teaching, research/administrative space and 2, 240 acres of infrastructure. The Facilities Division provides design and building services, maintenance, custodial, landscape, solid waste removal, utility, mail, and motor pool services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The goal is to deliver cost effective services to the University, ensure completed projects and maintenance that conform to codes and regulations, while minimizing University liabilities and disruptions caused by the maintenance, repair, building, and equipment modifications to the University.
