Scaleworks is looking for a full-time Accountant. This position will work and assist in all accounting activities including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Intercompany transactions. The successful candidate will be a key business partner responsible for month end close, bank and balance sheet reconciliations and all transactional accounting functions. You will succeed in this role because you are intellectually curious, adamant about accuracy and details, and like to roll up your sleeves. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

Requirements
We are looking for the ideal candidate who possesses these skills:
- Enjoys digging into the details of transactions and understanding the flow of transactions in the general ledger
- Ability to deal with complexity and manage multiple projects at one time
- Provide support to companies through management of AR and AP transactions
- Basic understanding of general ledger transactions (including debits and credits)
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to manage confidential information with sensitivity
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Responsibilities:
- Timely and accurately coding all expenses conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system
- Process credit card transactions and reconcile credit card accounts
- Bank and Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices
- Prepares weekly payment requests
- Prepares intercompany invoicing
- Ensures all inter-company transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Receives, researches, and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account and invoice status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons
- Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records, and reports
- Performs other duties as required to support the Fund and Portfolio companies
Must haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 3+ years Finance or Accounting Experience
- Experience with Quick Books / Xero
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications & Google Docs
- Demonstrates ability to perform with strong attention to detail
- Strong judgment, with the ability to handle confidential matters
