Overview:

The Activities Therapist facilitates positive changes in patient’s basic functional ability and achieves improved independent functioning. Attempts to provide a positive hospital experience in which patients are given opportunities for growth, learning, and mastering the environment through therapy, education, and recreation. Reporting supervisor: Rehabilitation Manager.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree and internship in appropriate area required.

Certifications: Certification or registration through appropriate certification/registering body required: CTRS - National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification or

CCLS - Child Life Certifying Commission or

RMT - Registration for Music Therapists or

ATR - Registration for Art Therapists

Must be CPR certified and be able to respond to emergency situations.
