This position in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology involves the provision of medical and perioperative care for women undergoing treatment for gynecologic malignancies in the inpatient and outpatient setting. In an academic medical center, the care you provide is collaborative and evidence-based. You will participate in daily morning rounds, assessments, discharge planning, and management of these patients in collaboration with members of the interprofessional team. You will work closely with attending physicians, fellows, residents, nurses, and professionals from other specialties.
General responsibilities include providing continuity of care, patient and family education, participating in research, documenting care according to standards and prescribing in accordance with supervising agreement, hospital policy, and State regulations. In this position you will develop a broad skill set, achieve satisfaction with patient care, and participate in the education of resident physicians.
The daily clinical and operational issues are the responsibility of the clinical service. Administratively, this position reports up through the Department of Advanced Practice at HUP. All nurse practitioners and physician assistants function under the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center medical staff guidelines and are credentialed through that entity. The CRNP or PA hired by the Department of Advanced Practice will be held accountable through a formal job description, the delineation of privileges, and the agreement with the Collaborating Physician(s). All clinical work hours and associated requirements will be defined and managed by the clinical service and within the Human Resource guidelines. This position is a part time position and will be 20 hours per week.
The qualified candidate must be an Acute Care NP with a MSN, current licensure or eligibility in the Commonwealth of PA and eligibility for credentialing by the medical board or a Master's Physician Assistant licensed in Pennsylvania.
