Tasks required by this position include the ability to perform human factors research activities in accordance with CAMI, AAM-500 requirements.
Requires the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and accomplish assignments with minimal supervision. This position involves supporting human factors research projects to quantify and assess human performance data.
Tasks require the ability to perform literature reviews, develop annotated bibliographies, and communicates finding to the research team lead. Requires the ability to work as a member of a team and independently with minimal oversight.
Requires the ability to follow detailed instructions to support the development of specialized measurement instruments/surveys, databases, and reports required for various research projects. Requires expertise in Microsoft Windows applications to perform data entry, use formulas and filters, and sort data in Excel and create, edit, and format documents in Word.
A qualified applicant must have a high level of attention to detail and the ability to perform quality control and their work and the work of team members. Knowledge of statistical procedures used in the social sciences is desirable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize research tasks and participate in teams
- Write and contribute to project-related reports, manuscripts, and presentations in APA style format
- Complete all aspects of literature reviews: define appropriate search strategies, compile pertinent information and findings, annotate, and assist with developing relevant research strategies.
- Conduct experimental protocol for collecting data from human participants
- Perform basic descriptive statistical analyses
- Maintain research database, verify accuracy, and validity of data
- Prepare surveys and collect data
No supervisory/management authority.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors in social science program such as:
Industrial Organizational Psychology, Engineering Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, Social Psychology, Applied Psychology, or Applied Social Psychology.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong computer software (Microsoft Office) skills required.
- Knowledge of Statistics for the Social Sciences (SPSS), Statistical Analysis Software (SAS), or Rbasic is required.
- Strong typing skills required.
This position is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting.
