|Computer Network administrators are responsible for the day-to-day operation of HPS IT Network.|
o Minimum of a Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from accredited college or university required.
o Cisco Certifications (CCNA required, CCNP preferred)
o Minimum 3 years? experience as a network engineer in an enterprise network supporting 3000+ users (5 years? experience preferred).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Cisco routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP & RIP) as well as Cisco CLI (IOS, IOS-XE), Cisco (Routers, Switches & ASA Firewalls), Routing Protocols (EIGRP, BGP & RIP).
o Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining the following hardware:
o Cisco 800 series routers
o Cisco Catalyst 45xxFamily (Sup II+, Sup IV, Sup V, Sup 6L, Sup 6E, Sup 7L, Sup 7E)
o Cisco Catalyst 29xx, 35xx, 36xx, 37xx and 38xx
o Cisco ASA Firewalls 5510, 5520, 5550, 5585
o Cisco 29xx and 39xx routers,
o Configure site-to-site, multisite IPsec VPN tunnels with Cisco routers or Firewalls
o Configure DVPN between remote sites and hub locations.
o Support application teams with network latency issues
o Assist Architect in the planning and design of the Manufacturing Network upgrade and the new School Network infrastructures and Server Room. It is called low voltage projects.
o Configure and implement the Manufacturing Network upgrade project, new Schools project, and the switch lifecycle replacement project.
o Network administration, installation, maintenance & support of Local Area Network / Wide Area
o Network consisting of Cisco switches, routers, firewalls.
o Configure, maintain and support of Cisco firewalls, ensuring that IT security standards are enforced.
o Support of end users or applications during and after installation/integration.
o Implement security standards and monitor to ensure end user and IT compliance.
o Remote support and onsite support off hours and during weekends as required.
o Work with project managers to deliver/plan projects within IT standards on time.
o Interact and with employees, vendors, and contractors to implement network products and services.
o Recommend improvements and/or alternatives to the company's existing systems architecture and technology portfolio.
o Integration and support of new infrastructure technologies
o Daily Network monitoring for any issues and pro-actively work the issues to resolution for whole school network.
o Performance network analysis and troubleshooting
o Packet capture and analysis of application traffic
o Work in a team as well as independently when required.
o Work off hours as required for project work
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to organize special programs for IT Department
o Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
o Ability to analyze data
o Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills
o Able to document work and have working knowledge of Visio and Microsoft Office
o Strong understanding of IP address space/subnets, routing & switch protocols, as well as VSS/vPC
o Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting.
o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
o A valid driver?s license
o Moderate travel is required.

Dallas/ Fort Worth and Central Office - Houston
Salary minimum: $72, 000 Salary maximum: $100,800
Austin, El Paso, and San Antonio Districts: $2,000 less
