PAY PLAN: 109 - $ 26,735.00 minimum per year
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from High School or its equivalent. Must have state A/C Certification. Must have three (3) to five (5) years of experience working with air cooled water chillers, central station air handlers, and electronic DDC control -Or- any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must have EPA Certification. General knowledge of various types of equipment used in the building trades; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other employees; ability to do heavy lifting and be in good general physical condition; Able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish. Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Building Maintenance Supervisor and Superintendent. This is a non-supervisory position. Duties include working with A/C and air cooled water chillers, assisting with installation and repair work involving electrical wiring, plumbing, painting, and may involve operation of heavy equipment. Helps with work orders requested. Maintains tools and machinery in good condition, and uses all tools carefully and as instructed. May clean and maintain proper chemical balance in Chiller Systems and assist in cleaning buildings. Assists on emergency after hour calls, and stand-by duty. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Building Maintenance Supervisor or Building Superintendent. This position is subject to a six (6) month probationary period prior to Civil Service eligibility. Must submit to a drug and alcohol evaluation.
