Applicants meeting the minimum experience and training requirements will start at $36,660 and have their pay advanced to $38,324 after being granted Class A certification by the State of Missouri. Applicants with a Class A certification from the State of Missouri will be paid an annual salary of $38,324. Proof of completion of P.O.S.T. certified training program (minimum of 600 hours) and Class A certification by the State of Missouri must be submitted upon request of the Department of Personnel.
Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position enforce local, state and federal laws and FAA regulations at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. Duties include patrolling assigned areas, making arrests, conducting investigations and appearing in court as needed. Positions require shift, weekend and holiday assignments. Candidates must provide their availability for shift and weekend assignments on the Availability section of the Employment Application.

A high school diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) certificate.
Age: Due to Federal and State regulations, applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filing application.
Certification/Deputization: Must be certified as a Police Officer by the State of Missouri and deputized as a Police Officer by St. Louis County, Missouri by completion of the working test period.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it at upon request. Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
