We have a major home builder in Northern Virginia that is currently hiring. We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to provide accounting support. Duties include accounts payable, journal entries and the processing of vendor checks as well as back up to the receptionist and various office administrative duties for start accounting department. •Set up Vendors (ABR) process with the ROC and/or Corp.
•Manage all Voids
•Process and request Cashier Checks from Corporate Treasury Dept.
•Maintain and process Manager's Account Checks and enter into JDE
•Maintain and Process all Notice to Owners to ensure accuracy of Lien Release prior to Releasing Payments
•Manage Builpro Lien Waivers and ensure they are signed prior to Releasing Payments on the Work Bench
•On a weekly basis, update sales and construction trailer lease schedule, model utility schedule, and inventory utility schedule
•Research and process all utility payments
•Close out Utility Accounts with multiple municipalities
•Process Purchase orders for land development Trade Partners
•Create and open job codes to home sites in JD Edwards
•Support Vendors / Trade Partners with payment issues
•Back up to receptionist duties
•Assist in the Accounting month end process (JE, Commission Calculations etc.. )
•Various other administrative functions for all departments for the division
•High School Diploma or GED required
•Minimum of two years office and accounts payable experience in the homebuilding industry
•Intermediate computer skills - Microsoft Word and Excel
•JD Edwards experience preferred
•Excellent attention to detail
