The position is located in the Evonik Technology Centre (Allentown) and is focused to support the development of new products and applications in the area of Composite. You will be required to apply your knowledge of chemistry or polymers to investigate product applications, making formulations and conducting performance tests of different epoxy products for the composite’s submarkets like; Oil & Gas, Wind, Energy, Automotive, and Underground Infrastructure Repair.
Lead the technical data generation on both application and development projects that are assigned by the Applied Technology Lead
Support with the resolution of problems in the area of lab experiments and organizing tests
Applies and develops knowledge of test methodology in line with the standards for Composite applications
Develop in-house test capabilities to support technical developments, recognizing when intermediate results are not achieving goals and making adjustments accordingly
Interpret test results and communicate key findings/conclusions
Maintain accurate and thorough records of laboratory procedures and results; ensuring compliance with Evonik standards, prepares technical reports on work conducted
Interacts with product/process R&D to exchange ideas, build up knowledge of process and transfer of information for scale up
Executes laboratory work in accordance with Evonik safety protocols and looks for new ways to improve the efficiency and organization of the laboratory
- 2 year degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial experience with a proven track record in working in the lab and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- Ability to work well in a cross functional team
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Passion and desire for composite technology and an ability to provide value added solutions to the team
