Job Description Summary:
Individual will plan, coordinate, schedule, and monitor work in connection with the transmission right-of-way vegetation management program, erosion control, landscaping, and line clearance tree work within the New Hampshire service area. Individual will coordinate Right-of-Way (ROW) vegetation management and control program activities in accordance with the Transmission Vegetation Management Plan (TVMP) and all federal regulations covering the transmission vegetation control activities involving the following: ROW and line inspections to ensure adequate vegetation clearances or note any potential clearance problems, identify sensitive locations where maintenance activities require modifications or changes, review information on past problems and special environmental and public relations constraints; coordinate with Transmission Engineering and Construction group to assist with vegetation clearing efforts and issues, prepares estimates for scheduled work and capital clearing projects and determines appropriate resource requirements; and establishes prioritized schedules to perform work within budget guidelines. Individual will also oversee the field performance of ROW vegetation maintenance work; schedule emergency transmission line clearing and vegetation work when hazards are reported or observed; and consult with Town, state, and water company officials as well as identified environmental groups or agencies and property owners on proposed work and techniques to be used, obtain necessary permits, perform contractor performance reviews; etc. Employee must also be available when required for emergency restoration events on the entire Eversource System.
An Associate's degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Agriculture, or related field and six years experience in utility clearance or rights of way vegetation control; or a Bachelor's degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Agriculture or related field and two years experience in utility line clearance or rights-of-way vegetation control are required. Individual must hold or demonstrate the ability to hold within a six-month period a valid Supervisory Pesticide Certification for Rights-of-Way for the state of New Hampshire. A working knowledge of work practices including methods of vegetation control; knowledge of regulations affecting ROW vegetation management and methods of control; good written and oral communications skills; and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required. A working knowledge of Windows system and related software programs (Word, Excel, Access) is also required. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required. Will have storm restoration and emergency assignments.
