The Project Designer role works with a Design Principal and Project Manager developing architectural design concepts, presentations, and documentation in a manner that is responsive to the client's needs, budget, and deadlines, consistent with HGA architectural procedures, standards and quality expectations, on Healthcare, Institutional, and/or Corporate projects.
Participation in all phases of the project design: Concept Design through Construction Administration
Maintains ongoing communication to understand any project changes, design issues or time/budget constraints that may impact initial assignment
Interacts with and communicates effectively and professionally with other team members, including the guidance and mentoring of junior staff
Participates in design presentations to client
Works within project budgets and timelines
Utilizes past knowledge and experience to enhance the quality of product, recognizes problem issues, communicates impact to team and seeks clarity when necessary.
Coordinates aspects of project documentation within company and externally with clients and other design consultants and professionals
Participation in project pursuits; assists with preparing proposals and winning new work
Significant experience on the design of new buildings, preferably in the over 50,000 sf size and within the Healthcare, ACE (Arts, Community and Education), and Corporate sectors.
Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills
Collaborative, curious nature - expresses ideas, listens to and considers others
Professional Architecture degree
Registration/licensure is preferred
Minimum ten years of experience in architecture / building design, including some or all of Healthcare, Institutional, and Commercial project types. Interest and willingness to work on all of these project types.
Proficiency in sustainable design principles and methodologies, including LEED certification, preferred.
Software to include proficient use of Revit, Sketchup, Rendering software (Enscape, 3ds Max), Adobe Suite
