Area Sales Manager Building Services

Our client is a leader in the Building Services Sector. Our client is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager within the Building Services / Municipal & Industrial Market. The successful Sales Manager will have an opportunity to work in this innovative, successful company.
The position can be based anywhere in the mentioned region, is sales focused within the Building Services / Municipal & Industrial Markets. There will be a very significant focus on business development especially into the Building Services vertical, plus, a continuation of efforts to drive and increase revenues from existing customers within all Verticals. A secondary focus will be to generally increase the brand profile in the area.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Solid Understanding of building services market – its customers – products – competitors – consultants – Distribution channels – Product selections
Ø Develop and execute a Business Plan for the region.
Ø Make prospecting calls on Mechanical Contractors, Builders, Wholesalers, Distribution Partners, Consultants and end users.
Ø Deliver order and sales targets versus budgets. Work with distributors to increase sales & market share of products in territory. Open new distributors where and when necessary.
Ø Motivate and implement growth strategies with distribution channels.
Ø Ability to work with distributor personnel to train and help grow product sales.
Ø Maintain and grow large project funnel in coordination with channels.
Ø Assist the General Manager of Sales in defining new markets and product opportunities.
Ø Hold trainings for channels and channel customers.
Ø Attend local trade association meetings and conduct trainings.
Ø Keep management advised of competitors’ activities in the territory / region
Ø The role requirement will be to work with the local Sales Manager, Internal sales and service Teams to ensure above market rate growth of sales within the region whilst ensuring an aligned and channeled approach.
Ø To develop and grow existing and previously lost customers and obtain new customers in the mentioned verticals, within Leinster
Ø To develop and maintain Account Plans and Call Plans in the Leinster region and ensure they are being followed, supported and developed by the business in order to drive growth and sustain the strong relationships.
Ø To proactively create new, develop and maintain key contracts within the Leinster region.
Ø To research and maintain market intelligence, including information on competitors and price levels to assist in day to day decisions and the formulation of strategy and budget planning regarding the allocated markets.
Ø To monitor competitor performance on agreements.
Ø Actively drive the Southern regions, whilst seeking out new opportunities and leads to provide continual and incremental growth.
Ø Ensuring customer accounts are managed effectively from a Finance perspective by working closely with the Accounts department to ensure accounts do not become overdue and that measures are in place to monitor customer payments.
Ø Ability to organise, facilitate and deliver Presentations, Lunch & Learns, possible factory visits and other associated customer facing events as part of the annual marketing plan or the strategic customer business plan for the region.
Ø Any other duties, within your capabilities, as required by Management. i.e. Dispute resolution, troubleshooting customer issues, managing customer complaints, reacting to customer emergency requests.
NUMBER OF YEARS PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
· Diploma/Degree in engineering or business, is a plus
· Prior sales or business development experience is required (solution sales to mechanical contractors and consulting engineering firms specialising in the building services and water markets.
· Self-motivated, ambitious and confident
· Honest, ethical and forthright with clients
· Must work cohesively and collaboratively with multiple departments/levels and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
· Energetic, driven and able to build a ‘trusted partner’ relationship with clients
· Ability to be independent and operate with minimal supervision;
· Must possess a strong business sense of how to develop, grow and maintain sales revenues in assigned territory
· Excellent communication skills including interpersonal, written and spoken.
