The Area Sales Manager position is an energetic, creative, results driven individual responsible for individually contributing, mentoring and guiding the area sales team to produce sales results. SIMCO is strategically focused on penetration and saturation of the Global 50 enterprises measured by the average client value in calibration as well as software sales. The Area Sales Manager position requires a combination of sales experience, mentorship, solutions oriented selling and an ambassador for sales process execution.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for their individual area sales team. The position requires sales team management, mentoring, career development of the sales team, as well as recruiting and training of the sales team. You must enjoy developing and managing teams, spending time in the market to identify target opportunities, and providing guidance to the sales team to successfully penetrate and saturate accounts.
A. Individual Sales Quota � individual sales results for established revenue and contribution quotas in the assigned territory. Identifying new sales opportunities, working closely with SIMCO�s clients, partnering with the SIMCO sales team to develop presentations, proposals, and executive summaries to achieve aggressive sales growth objectives.
B. Software Sales � Service Manager sales performance results as a product champion and standard bearer to the area sales team to drive sales growth
C. Talent Development � sales staffing focusing on values, culture, and people by recruiting/ recommending new talent without industry experience or proven track record of sales success to lay the ground work for sourcing fresh talent which allows SIMCO to promote from within and creates career trajectory for individuals. Career development of area sales personnel makes a scalable sales organizational structure possible. It is how we build our talent pool and sales organization.
Lead Area Sales
� Sales Quota � individual accountability for local territory and area sales performance to quota
� Software Quota � individual accountability for service manager sales performance to quota
� Sales Leadership � meet directly with clients to present and sell SIMCO suite of calibration and software services
� Area Greedy � intense and selfish desire for area sales growth, prioritize Global 50 locations in area
� Enterprise-Up � collaborate with business development to penetrate and saturate Global 50 client enterprises
� Area Sales Team � engage directly with local area sales team to win new calibration and software sales
� Demo Expertise � act as a leading expert in software demonstration skills and mastery
� Staffing and Training � hire, train, coach, and mentor local area sales team to develop sales skills and expertise
� 2+ years of experience selling calibration and software products and services
� Experience with Large Account B2B sales
� Miller Heiman Strategic Selling Certified (not required, but a strong plus)
� Internal �Start-up� / Growth Division experience (developing, finding, honing, executing value prop)
� Bachelor's degree or Experience Equivalent (MBA not required, but a strong plus)
� Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
Working Environment and Travel
� Mixed, Work from home, office environment, travel to meet with clients and SIMCO sales force (up to 50%)
