Eaton's North American Electrical Sales division is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager to join our team. This position can be located in City of Industry, CA; San Diego, CA; Tukwila, WA; Spokane, WA or Wilsonville, OR. Position Overview: The Area Sales Manager is responsible for developing the overall geographic sales strategy to achieve the WD for the West Region sales targets; implement and execute those plans incorporating distributor personnel, assigned agencies, contractors and the Eaton NAS team; and track progress to meet expected growth goals. The territory is comprised of either AK, WA, OR, UT, ID, WY, CO or SoCal, HI, NV, AZ, CO. Ideal location will be Los Angeles or San Diego, CA, Seattle, WA, or Portland, OR. In this function you will: + Develop strategic plans for "key" channel partners that coincide with the overall company objectives + Partner with NAS team to drive both residential and wiring devices opportunities through existing channel relationships + Develop the agent strategy for the assigned region that incorporates an agent review process + Collaborate and develop the Spec position + Establish and drive a conversion pipeline for the residential, commercial and industrial channels + Provide leadership to the sales reps and the distributor channel + Provide training to the sales reps and the distributor channel When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we - as individuals and as a company - are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited institution + Minimum 5 years electrical industry sales/marketing experience + Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship + No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area of the site location (50 miles) will be considered. Preferred qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or Industrial Distribution (or related) + Prior people management experience (strong interpersonal, hire, train) + Electrical distribution product knowledge + Experience with Channel Management Position Criteria: + Ability to respond to a variety of challenging circumstances while continuing to demonstrate superior selling skills for important customer services and applications + Electrical product knowledge + Ability to provide technical solutions built around customer needs + Skilled in time management + Possess negotiating skills while understanding and using techniques needed to close orders + Experience with building a sales pipeline in order to meet sales targets + Robust presentation, training and communications skills + Experience utilizing Value Added selling techniques + Strong work ethic, communications skills, competitiveness, willingness to learn and adept at building relationships We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
