Proposed Minimum Salary
The Assistant Director for the Texas Water Resources Institute DFW, serves under the general direction of the TWRI Director, overseeing the development of Texas A&M water resources programs addressing high priority water resource needs within the Dallas-Ft. Worth region.
Serve as the primary representative for the Institute throughout the Dallas-Ft. Worth region.
Serve on the Institutes statewide leadership and coordination team.
Provide intellectual and philosophical leadership for Texas A&M System Faculty, Staff, and Students to advance synergistic, academic, research, extension, and service programs focused on high-priority water resource issues within the region.
Manage and coordinate investments that advance Texas A&M System water resource programs across the region.
Serve as supervisor to TWRI personnel within the Dallas-Ft Worth region.
Serve as liaison for the Institute to Texas A&M University System administrative leadership within the region, which includes: Tarleton State University; the Stephenville AgriLife Research & Extension Center; Texas A&M University Commerce; the Dallas AgriLife Research & Extension Center; AgriLife Extension Districts 4 and 8; AgriLife Extension East Region; TEES Regional Divisions; and the Texas A&M School of Law.
Represent the Institute to municipal, state, and federal agencies, private organizations, partners, collaborators, and key industry groups engaged in addressing high-priority water resource problems within the Region.
Provide leadership for continued acquisition of internal and external resources to advance high-priority water resource programs within the Region.
Write grants and proposals to acquire external funding to support a collaborative research program aligned with the TAMUS members mission.
Education and Experience:
Ph.D. in applicable water resources related area of study.
Six years of experience in developing water resource research and outreach programs.
Progressive supervisory responsibilities.
Progressive responsibility in engaging a broad range of water resource stakeholders.
Participation in inter and trans-disciplinary water resource programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to establish collaborative relationships amongst a broad range of disciplines and interest groups.
Strategic Planning processes.
-Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Position Appointment and Compensation
Appointment can be as a 9 month or 12 month position
Compensation commensurate with experience
