Brief Description Assists in planning and managing daily operations of the Release & Warrant, or Intake & Document Imaging section of the Data Management Unit; provides supervision, direction and instruction to exempt and non-exempt staff, and participates in the development and achievement of goals to meet statutory and County requirements and ensure departmental efficiency.
Detailed Description Assists in management administration and operation of the Release & Warrant, or the Intake & Document Imaging section of the Data Management Unit, to include developing and implementing processes related to TCIC/NCIC, TDC sentencing and time computation, warrant status, billing contract prisoners, bond settings, clearance releases, detention orders, victim notifications, and other related information. Assists in preparing instructions provided to the data entry staff, keeps staff abreast of data entry updates, and directs the training and evaluation of new employees. Participates in the development and achievement of goals, objectives, ideas, and efficiencies of the department and oversees all departmental activities in the absence of the manager. Delegates and performs personnel functions and provides direction to staff, to include communicating assignments, reviewing procedures, establishing priorities, ensuring maintenance and productivity of workloads and reviewing disciplinary actions. Assists with updates and revisions to job descriptions and standard operating procedure Assists in the preparation of the annual budget. Performs and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Management, or in a job related field of study. Three (3) years of work related experience, including one (1) year of supervisory experience. Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Mandatory drug test prior to and during employment. Requires successful completion of a polygraph and extensive background investigation and is subject to random, unannounced drug/alcohol testing. Requires a valid Texas Drivers’ License and a good driving record. Standard office environment inside the jail.
