Assist the Distribution Manager through support the overall direction and supervision of the Northern California Distribution Centers through oversight for the receiving and storage of fresh and frozen products, ensuring the timely and efficient picking and shipping of customer orders, managing the micro hold program, SAP EWM function, export process and CHEP pallet program.
Assist the Distribution Manager in the daily operations of the facility by:
a. Providing oversight for the receiving and storage of both fresh and frozen product from the various Foster Farms plants, as well as from third party warehouse locations; directly supervising NCDC1 and Stack off.
b. Ensure that employees are picking and shipping customer orders and outside warehouse orders 24 hours 7 days a week efficiently and accurately; making necessary staffing adjustments to respond to work flow.
c. Routinely visiting the outside cold storage facilities to ensure proper storage and rotation of our products.
d. Analyzing performance trends for the facility by auditing the functions performed on each shift along with analysis of data to ensure goals are met and to locate process improvements and cost savings.
e. Ensuring safe, efficient facility operations by advocating safety training and accident preparedness.
f. Interface with Transportation Department to ensure that interplant shuttle deliveries arrive at the NCDC in time to meet the scheduled customer departures.
Assist with the annual budget process as well as monitoring spending throughout the year.
Hire, train and manage all warehouse clerical staff and inventory cycle counters on their job responsibilities to maintain and continuously improve cost-efficiency and facility performance.
Provide ongoing support to the SAP EWM functions as the liaison to the IT department, Operations and DC staff, assisting with new role outs, system upgrades and modifications as well as daily procedures and troubleshooting.
Oversee the Micro Program for the Distribution Center to ensure QA and Critical Hold processes are strictly adhered to through the training, auditing and management of the warehouse clerical staff.
Oversee the export process to ensure warehouse employees and clerical staff are trained on and following the required export process for various countries.
Analyze and purchase white wood pallets and freezer gear based on need and manage the CHEP program.

Must have a B.S. /B.A. in Business Administration or similar field or equivalent experience
Must have a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in warehousing, preferable in the food industry
Must have extensive knowledge of data processing systems and terminology as they relate to warehousing
Must have demonstrated organizational and leadership skills
Must have good English communication skills (written and verbal)
Must have prior budget preparation and staffing analysis experience
Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
