About This Role
The Assistant General Manager for the Apothecarium must bring The Apothecarium’s culture of competence and compassion to our dispensary. The leadership team is at the heart of our unique patient and employee experience. As the Assistant General Manager, you will assist the General Manager with day to day dispensary operations. You will assist the manager and support employees to provide the best products and services to suit their individual needs and ensure efficient, courteous handling of patient requests, including sales, payment/service problem resolution, payments, and technical troubleshooting.
Basic Qualifications:
Prior retail management experience (2 years)
Prior management experience leading large teams (1 years)
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent in professional and life experience
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in the medical cannabis industry highly desirable
Experience working in the health & wellness industry highly desirable
Proven ability to manage teams effectively and ensure excellence in training and performance
Proficiency in G Suite (Google Drive, Google Sheets)
Proficiency in Metrc (Cannabis Track and Trace Software) highly desirable
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in managing day to day operations of the dispensary
Lead store opening and closing
Provide employees with guidance and growth opportunities and ensure the collective is a positive work environment while maintaining productivity
Demonstrate leadership and compassionate management
Assist in the hiring, training and termination of employees while providing guidance
Manage and delegate duties and responsibilities to staff and supervisors
Act as a resource for team members strain and product knowledge
Build trust with members, patients, and vendors
Assist with managing accounts and petty cash
Maintain the safety and security of all members and employees
Protect guest, staff and assets from injury damage, or theft through prevention and rapid response
Prepare for major incidents, emergencies, natural disasters and crises
Stay abreast of all cannabis industry specific legislation, actions and enforcement
Create, maintain and enforce controls and procedures that are in 100% compliance with all applicable authorities and requirements
Support and maintain a functional network within the surrounding community with various entities (e.g., SFPD, District Liaisons, Community Benefit Districts “CBD”, Neighborhood & Merchant associations, etc.) to maintain our status as a well-intentioned and involved organization
Assist with creating and maintaining work schedules that accommodates the needs of the organization and team members
Provide employees with guidance and growth opportunities and ensure the collective is a positive work environment while maintaining productivity and profitability
Engage to resolve escalated patient interactions and ensure patient concerns are solved efficiently, respectfully and promptly
Partner with Inventory Manager to ensure the appropriate selection of salable products are available at all times
Evaluate and review Team Leader performance and Team Member performance
Represent the collective at community functions and meetings while maintaining professionalism and respect
Ensure the collective’s reputation does not suffer negatively in any manner
Ensure dispensary compliance with internal, local and state regulations
Maintain a positive work environment conducive to trust and respect
Ensure department equipment is functional and maintained
Use discretion with sensitive and confidential security and business information
Attend meetings as necessary
