Essential Job Function:

The Assistant Store Manager performs operations necessary for running an efficient and profitable convenience store/retail fuel site. The environment is fast-paced and customer-focused environment, and the Assistant Manager works closely with the Store Manager. This person must have the aptitude to make timely decisions and immediately solve problems. Our stores are open 24/7 and all leaders must be available to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise the daily tasks and performance of store associates
• Maintain focus on delivering excellent customer service and addressing customer concerns
• Assist the Store Manager in selecting and training store personnel
• Create and submit daily store reports
• Oversee cash handling
• Control merchandise and fuel inventories
• Assist with ordering and inventory to keep shelves fully stocked and well-merchandised
• Handle employee grievances and disputes
• Maintain site appearance standards
• Implement and maintain health & safety procedures
• Communicate and track maintenance issue resolution
• Understand and consistently deliver brand standards
• Comply with all laws, rules, regulations and company policies

Basic Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree preferred
• Previous retail management experience preferred
• 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
• Verifiable work history
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor
• Willingness to work flexible hours based on business needs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to safely lift 40 lbs. to chest height
• Ability to stand and walk for 8 consecutive hours
• Climb a stepstool, reach with arms, grasp with hands, bend, and crouch
• Accurately select options from a touch screen point-of-sale monitor
• Accurately count US currency and make change
• Aptitude for teamwork and customer service
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office programs
• Superior leadership skills
• Multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment
• Pre-hire drug screen, background and credit check
