The Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Arizona and Banner University Medical Group is recruiting an Assistant Professor in Abdominal Imaging to join our faculty team. Banner University Medical Center comprises a 500-bed tertiary care hospital and substantial outpatient practice. The hospital has three MR scanners, (1.5T and 3T GE), which are equipped with advanced fast-scanning capabilities, four CTs, including a 64-slice Toshiba MDCT, and GE ultrasound. The outpatient facility has state-of-the-art GE PET/CT, Toshiba 64-slice CT, 1.5-T MR and ultrasound. The program offers a flexible, largely outpatient body, musculoskeletal, and breast cross-sectional imaging experience. Candidates should have a strong commitment to patient care, strong teaching and clinical skills and desire to oversee residents and medical students. The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment to the University of Arizona consistent with their credentials.
The Department of Medical Imaging provides clinical service to Banner - University Medical Center (BUMC) which includes the sole Level 1 Trauma Center in southern Arizona, the Diamond Childrens Medical Center, University of Arizona Cancer Center, South Campus Hospital, University Medical Imaging and community sites throughout Arizona. The Department of Medical Imaging and BUMC are undergoing major growth and investment making this an attractive opportunity for the successful candidate. The department has a strong research core and is undergoing major investment in facilities and advanced technology.
