Boston University Metropolitan College seeks to fill a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting July or September 1, 2020, for the graduate program in Arts Administration (http://www.bu.edu/met/academic-community/departments/arts-administration/). The department believes that the cultural and social diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the distinction and excellence of our research and academic programs. Faculty duties include teaching up to six courses at the graduate level per academic year, conducting active research, participating in course and curriculum development, and mentoring part-time faculty and students, as well as providing service to the department, college and the university. This is a full-time non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a 2-5 year renewable contract.
The successful candidate will have expertise in the visual arts and an advanced degree(s) in one or more of the following areas: Visual Arts, Museology, Art History, Theater, Organizational Management, Public Administration, Arts Leadership, Art Business, or Cultural Entrepreneurship, or a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in arts administration; 3-5 years experience teaching at the university level and a national reputation in the field as either an artist/practitioner or scholar/researcher. We welcome applications from candidates with professional and industry experience in addition to the terminal degree.
