The Associate Director, Communications and Culture develops and coordinates lines of communication within the organization among employees and manages the execution of the organization's culture strategy and plan.
The Associate Director, IT Communications and Culture has accountability for developing the overarching Communications and Culture strategy to support daily operations and the transformation in Humana's technology ecosystem and in IT's ways of working. The role works closely with the IT Leadership Team, Corporate Communications, and Human Resources Partners to identify the organization's critical organizational communications and culture needs, both short-term and long-term, and devises and executes a plan to fulfill accordingly. The role generally works based on a 12 to 18-month plan.
As part of its accountability, the Associate Director provides leadership toward IT's Communications and Culture team and guides its priorities based on the organization's operational and strategic priorities. The role incumbent also oversees execution of IT’s Annual Culture Plan, which is comprised of initiatives that relate to Inclusion and Diversity, Associate Experience and Associate Well-Being.
+ Plans and implements IT’s communication and culture strategies on a yearly basis
+ Directs and oversees the development and implementation of communications plans to support IT’s Organizational Strategy, key strategic initiatives, and other major projects or programs
+ Coordinates at strategic and tactical levels with other functions to ensure delivery of solid communications at the member, corporate, and IT levels. Such functions include IT departments, Corporate Communications, EIP Communications, Human Resources, Audio-Visual Production, and Events and Meeting Planning
+ Coordinates at strategic and tactical levels with other functions to ensure review, development and execution of culture plans. Such functions include ITLOC, IT departments’ culture delegates/ champions, Associate Well-Being team, Inclusion and Diversity team, and Human Resources
+ Provides direct Executive Communications support to the Chief Technology and Risk Officer, including content development, editorial reviews, organizational communications, associate experience/well-being planning, and coordination with the Speaker Review Board
+ Helps create internal marketing campaigns for new technology products to be launched
+ Develops and maintains the Technology.Source website – a channel for IT strategy communications and the IT Culture Site – a home for all things that shape Humana IT’s culture
+ Plans and coordinates events that support leadership and all-associates’ alignment on our IT strategy, including Quarterly Town Hall and Annual Leaders Meeting
+ Co-produces with Corporate Communications all member messages that relate to technology changes or outages that impact member experience
+ Supervises the work and activities of the communications and culture staff (four full-time associates, two contractors, plus one pending full-time associate position)
+ Coaches, guides and supports the professional development of his/her reporting staff
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, as well as Teams, Yammer and SharePoint
+ Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to perform compelling presentations
+ Possesses a working knowledge of how to leverage various media (radio, newsletters, email messages, Buzz groups, SharePoint sites, Teams channels, live events, and video) to convey message and incite movement
+ Has strong negotiation and persuasion abilities
+ Displays excellent leadership and management skills
+ Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills
+ Is highly detail oriented
+ Exhibits superior critical thinking and analytical skills
+ Strong organizational skills and experience in program planning and execution
+ Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving workplace culture and organizational effectiveness
+ Demonstrated high learning agility and tolerance for ambiguity
+ Strong collaborator and adept at use of virtual collaboration tools
+ MBA or Advanced degree in Business, Communications, or Marketing desired, but not required
+ Formal Business Communications and/or Workplace Culture Management experience
Primary location is Louisville, KY. If not based in Louisville, KY would need to be open to travel 25%.
