Overview of the role:
Reporting to the Director of Facilities Planning, Design and Construction, the Associate Director of Facilities Planning Design and Construction is a key member of the Facilities Planning and Management leadership team. The Associate Director has oversight and management responsibility for the administrative and operational functions of the University's Capital Improvement Program managed by the department of Facilities Planning, Design and Construction. The Associate Director is responsible for oversight and management of the department's capital project design, permitting and construction management program. The Associate Director will assist with development of the University's annual capital development program, feasibility studies, conceptual planning, conceptual estimating, and architectural programming support of capital developments at the San Bernardino and Palm Desert campuses.
The Associate Director serves as the Campus Construction Administrator for all campus construction. Implements design guidelines, standards, and procedures. Oversees the accurate use of project management systems to ensure that all projects are managed in accordance with the State University Administrative Manual (SUAM) and CSU guidelines and will withstand audit scrutiny. Collaborates in the development of long term planning and annual submission of the University's 5 Year Capital Outlay Budget Change Proposal (COBCP) submittal.
