Merrick Animal Hospital in Brookfield, Il, is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our Team. Our vets have over 60 years of experience and have been with the practice from 5-11 years. We are a well established full-service veterinary care facility caring for small animals and exotics. MAH strives to provide comprehensive and high-quality care evidenced by our full in-house lab, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, therapy laser, ultrasound, computerized medical records and a team of Veterinarians who are open to collaboration for optimal patient care. Each doctor has their own workspace with desk and computer and is teamed up with a veterinary assistant and veterinary technician to ensure they are able to care for patients efficiently and comprehensively.
Schedules are flexible. Doctors are typically scheduled four weekdays( which includes one surgical day) and every other Saturday. MAH places a great deal of value on maintaining a positive and supportive work culture so it would be the highest expectation for all interactions with team and clients to be professional and respectful. We also value a good work/life balance.
Our ideal candidate is an upbeat, enthusiastic, supportive team member. They should be able to handle stress, have good organizational skills, and be able to deal with critical situations. The ability to interact with positively with other staff is essential. A good sense of humor is a plus! They should be comfortable developing preventative care plans, offering quality treatment plans, and proficient with using computerized medical records. They should be able to diagnose and treat dental disease and perform routing spays and neuters. Comfort with, or willingness to learn surgeries from lump removals to exploratories including bladder stones, gastrointestinal foreign bodies, splenectomies, etc. is also a plus. Experience or willingness to learn cranial cruciate surgery is also a plus. We schedule 30 minute appointments but will add on emergencies when they come in.
