Brief Position Description:
The Associate Veterinarian provides care for animals including physical examinations, dental procedures, surgeries, immunizations, euthanasia as well as client education,marketing and inventory maintenance. This position requires a strong back ground of pharmaceutical drugs, common diseases; their symptoms, means of transmission, treatment and prevention, and other basic preventative healthcare recommendations.
Skills and Abilities
- Handle stress and pressure with poise and tact.
- Computer skills in order to obtain and enter client information and diagnostic tests.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding clients and patients for whom the practice provides veterinary services.
- Perform tasks without supervision.
- Answer client questions and provide education on various aspects of animal care.
