Responsible for leading the preparation of SEC filings, MD&A and footnote disclosures. Successful candidates will have extensive technical accounting skills, a professional approach and strong communication skills.
Responsible for US GAAP accounting policy analysis and special projects which will include involvement in the FASB’s Insurance Contracts project and assisting in the implementation of new FASB standards, including CECL.
Relationship & Scope
This AVP, Financial Reporting role will need to interact effectively with different levels of Management across all business segments
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of all SEC filings including financial statements, footnotes, disclosures and supporting documentation
Own and be accountable for various analytical and reporting responsibilities that include the ability to work within finance and other departments
Recognize, research and resolve SEC reporting and general accounting issues
Lead projects as needed
Analyze technical accounting topics and propose conclusions
Monitor the status, assess the impact to Chubb and assist with the implementation of FASB projects and standards
Four-year degree in Business with a major in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred
SEC reporting experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership and project management skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
Technical accounting policy aptitude required
Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently
Ability to identify priorities and manage time efficiently
Ability to work effectively with all levels throughout a large organization
CPA designation preferred
Big 4 audit manager experience, or equivalent, preferred
Insurance experience, a plus
