Back Office MA Scribe
Back Office Medical Assistant (MA) (general duties)
Knowledge of standard medical care, medical terminology and safety hazards.
Dependability, professionalism, accuracy and effective communication skills with parents, children, .
The ability to multitask and remain focused in a fast paced environment
Maintains timely flow of patients and completion of documentation.
Responsibilities include but not limited to competency in vitals, injections, phlebotomy, vaccine, medication, and procedure administration, lab tests (in-house and send out), GRITS, inventory, stocking rooms, and outgoing compliance calls.
Screens patients for appropriate history and testing.
Instructs patients on tests, medications and treatment in a professional manner
Orders required tests and vaccines in patient chart and documents results.
Attends required meetings office meetings
Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA
Ensures a clean and clutter free work space and maintains clean and clutter free patient exam rooms.
Performs related work as directed by supervisor, administrator, and physicians with no time sitting idle.
Assisting other MAs with care of patients as requested.
Other duties as assigned may include scanning, filing, referrals, pharmacy calls, prior authorizations, labs, inventory, etc.
Patient load about 30 patients a day
Additional job descriptions:
Ensure complete and accurate capture of medical information as spoken/instructed verbatim by the Provider. Assist provider in navigating electronic health record. (At no time is the scribe performing independent clinical judgement or direct patient care.) Accompany Provider into patient exam areas for purpose of accurately documenting the Providers encounter with the patient as described by the Provider. Seek real-time clarification of all information entered into the medical record. Confirm diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as mentioned by the Provider. Enter orders, including diagnostic testing and medications which are pended and require Provider approval to activate. Ensure that all required testing and vaccines are completed before patient departs visit. Look up pertinent past medical records as necessary. Prioritize Provider time. Complete all scribe duties before leaving the patient care area. Requires quality, detail, and accuracy.
Candidates must possess great customer service, communication, organizational, and computer skills. The ideal candidate(s) will be flexible, able to work independently, motivated, and a self-starter with great team focus. Candidate must understand AAP requirements from Bright Futures, Vaccine schedule and HEDIS.
Education and experience equivalent to:
Clinical experience required; pediatric experience is preferred
Salary based on experience; Full time; Benefits available (401K, Holiday, PTO, Health Insurance Premium Reimbursement)
Candidate must pass background check. Position requires 1-2 weekday evening hours per week and 1-2 Saturdays per month.
Pay rate up to $13.50 depending on experience.
