Northwood Club is a rapidly growing with increased membership. The Club was established in 1946. We are a premier country club located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. We recentlyre-opened our newly renovated championship golf course. We have also just completed renovation on our dining room 1946, golf maintenance buildings/shop, and front entrance. Additional renovations will continue throughout the facilities. The club has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff consists of a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary.
Reports to:Director of Catering,Banquet Manager, Director of F&B and/or Clubhouse Manager.
Classification:Full-Time, Hourly and Non Exempt
General Purpose:Set up all necessary banquet supplies (table, chairs, linens, silverware, props), prepares function rooms per the banquet event order making sure the banquet is aesthetically pleasing and all areas of the banquet event area are clean. Position is full- time with benefits.
- Provides immediate attention to all members and guests.
- Cleans function rooms prior to set-up.
- Set equipment to event order specifications.
- Provide required amenities as dictated by Club Standards.
- Refresh function rooms during meal and coffee breaks or as needed.
- Break down function room at the end of the function.
- Complete special projects as directed by management.
- Move function materials which include boxes, programs, etc. from purchasing, contact's car, or different areas of the Club.
- Caring for equipment.
- Accommodates special requests for customers for their meetings and food/beverage functions.
- Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Required to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: May be required: to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reaches with arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; talks or hears. Occasionally sits; climbs or balances. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.
Environment/Noise: Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses: Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Training may be needed.
