Gift Shop Sales Agent:
To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
To follow all specified procedures to properly perform routine job tasks, including opening and closing shop; conducting cash transactions; and organizing and displaying merchandise and products in a visual and pleasing manner.
To interact with customers in a congenial, informative, and sincere manner, to promote the sale of Gift Shop merchandise.
To monitor inventory of retail merchandise, and promptly report to supervisor when it is low.
To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle all cash, credit, and gift card transactions.
To promptly and professionally answer Gift Shop phones, following appropriate standards of business etiquette to respond to callers' requests.
To take personal responsibility to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the Gift Shop, including removing litter and trash, and straightening shop displays and merchandise.
To make and serve specialty coffee and espresso drinks.
To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Spa Director or Outlet Supervisor, when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
To extend a courteous, friendly, and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart.
To make the Outlet Supervisor aware of all guest comments and complaints.
To be thoroughly familiar with the menus, service standards, and procedures.
To follow specified procedures to provide prompt, efficient, and gracious customer service to hotel guests by the pools, including answering telephones; taking, preparing and presenting guest checks; and providing correct change for cash transactions.
To follow specified procedures to properly set-up the Pacific Perk on a daily basis.
To ensure the cleanliness and condition of the Coffee Shop.
To maintain the proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment, handling both to minimize breakage.
To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle all cash, and credit transactions, including the proper use of Micros computer systems.
To follow all policies and procedures of JC Resorts LLC.
To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
To practice safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others.
To comply with company and departmental safety rules and regulations, including the proper handling of all relevant equipment.
To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Must be familiar with all areas of retail sales service, including correct telephone etiquette, proper cash and cash register handling, and writing mail orders. Must have strong basic math skills. Previous hotel/resort experience preferred.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Learns quickly. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service. Diplomatic and calm. Strong verbal communications skills. Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works indoors throughout shift in temperature-controlled, clean, and well-lighted gift shop. Shop is compact with narrow aisles and limited space behind service counter.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands and walks short distances throughout shift. Bends, stoops, reaches, and lifts to perform routine job tasks.
JOB CLASSIFICATION: The position is classified as Part-Time and, upon completion of the Introductory Period, the employee is eligible for certain benefits outlined in the Employee Handbook.
