_We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business._ **Biologist** Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a candidate with 5 to 15 years of experience to serve as a full-time Biologist. **About Us** Hanson Professional Services Inc. is a dynamic, employee-owned consulting firm of more than 450 employees providing a full range of multi-disciplined engineering, scientific, and allied services throughout the USA. **Position Profile** This position is primarily responsible for conducting and overseeing field surveys, including but not limited to threatened and endangered species habitat surveys and wetland delineations. Preparation, coordination and submittal of federal and state permit application associated with the Clean Water Act. Field surveys will be conducted outdoors and require travel to monitor sites away from the office. Document development, permit applications, and mapping will be conducted in the office. This position will require good communication skills with co-workers and clients, advanced writing skills, and a technical aptitude with ArcGIS desktop or ArcGIS Pro. This is a Railroad Market position. **Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:** Conduct field surveys and wetland delineations. Prepare permit applications and mitigation plans for wetlands and other environmental resources to support Section 404 Permitting through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other agencies. Prepare a variety of other permitting and environmental documents and reports Interface with various state and federal resource agencies **Qualifications** **Technical Skills:** + Wetland Delineation knowledge + Proven technical writing capabilities required + Demonstrated proficiency in GIS is required **Soft Skills:** + Must exhibit excellent attention to details + Must be able to work independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skills + Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external client bases **Education/Experience:** + Bachelor's Degree in Biology or Environmental Science required + Completion of a wetland delineation training course required + A Master's degree in the environmental field preferred + Experience with ecological field work or survey, preferred **Working at Hanson:** + Must be willing to accept frequent, short-term, out-of-town travel assignments + Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices + Must be willing and able to work overtime to meet project demands and deadlines As employers/governmental contractors, we comply with government regulations, including affirmative action responsibilities where they apply.
