Responsible for ensuring YMCA buses are in proper working order and clean, and that children are transported safely following assigned routes and schedules.? Provide leadership and supervision to all bus drivers and assume driving duties as needed.? This is a part time position working an average of 15-25 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ? Bus Coordinator
Direct supervision of all bus drivers.
Schedule and coordinate YMCA bus trips and bus transfers.
Ensure bus drivers perform safety checks before using busses.
Ensure that all bus drivers abide by all federal, state and municipal traffic laws.
Assist interested employees in obtaining their bus driver?s license.
Maintain all bus supplies, including First/Aid kits, in coordination with bus drivers.
Coordinate all bus maintenance and repairs.
Coordinate and lead YMCA trainings for all bus drivers.
Serve as liaison to Branch representatives and ensure bus drivers meet the specific transportation needs of YMCA.
Maintain good relationship between the YMCA, the school and community.
Ensure all bus drivers arrive punctually to all scheduled trips.
Ensure buses are inspected and meet all state and federal guidelines.
Ensure bus drivers maintain adequate fuel in the bus and coordinate filling as needed.
Ensure bus drivers record and submit daily mileage, fuel consumption, and attendance reports.
Ensure all bus drivers keep the busses clean.
Maintain and organize all bus documentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ? Bus Driving
Transport children via YMCA bus following assigned routes and schedule.
Ensure the safety of all people on the bus.
Work with YMCA staff to properly supervise children when on field trips.
Perform documented safety checks before operating the bus.
Abide by all federal, state and municipal traffic laws.
Ensure First/Aid kit is complete.
Communicate effectively with management team.
Attend job related training and staff development meetings.
Maintain good relationship between the YMCA, the school and the community.
Accurately estimate travel time and traffic patterns to be punctual.
Help to maintain the bus in good working condition including reporting problems.
Maintain adequate fuel in the bus and fill as needed.
Record daily mileage, fuel consumption, and attendance.
Ensure that the bus is clean and tidy.
Be at 21 years of age or older.
Maintain current commercial driver?s license.
Minimum one year experience supporting and supervising others to ensure their success is preferred
A record of safe driving
Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.
Must be energetic, motivated, and have good common sense.
Be a positive role model.
