We are actively looking for a talented Business Development Manager to join our Software Sales team. You will focus specifically on business development for solutions within State Government within NSW and play a pivotal role in growing the pipeline of work and driving continual growth in this area.
An experienced Business Development Manager who knows how to sell and can demonstrate a successful track record of selling software solutions in a targeted territory or at a national level. You are passionate, hardworking and genuinely interested in growing your business in partnership with your customers to also help them grow theirs.
Work closely with the Director, Sales - Public Sector as a critical member of a small and dedicated team and contribute to the organisational sales strategy by taking ownership of your personal sales activities.
In working with a truly talented team, you will be able to consult with clients to deliver complex, critical solutions within the public sector. Being a truly consultative sales role, which will often involve long lead times, you will partner with these clients to understand their business goals and make the most of expert technical resources to assist you through the sales process. Your focus will be on genuine partnership to achieve sales revenue goals.
To remain competitive, you will also be required to understand the strengths and weaknesses of major competitors and gather market intelligence covering competitors' products and sales strategies to support ongoing innovation, product development and account management.
You are likely to have established and disciplined sales skills and a combination of account management and new business development experience (5+ years). You will need strong business acumen and the ability to promote value over price, combined with astute analytical and problem-solving skills. Specific technical knowledge would be ideal along with a sound technical aptitude. What is most important however, is your approach to building a business.
Enterprise solution selling in areas such as Location Intelligence/GIS, Customer Analytics, ERP, Business Intelligence or related environment would be a distinct advantage.
