We are seeking a Business Development Manager, Federal, who is responsible for leveraging his or her deep experience in selling to the Federal government to grow this segment through this new position. The primary role is to introduce our unparalleled product range of LED and LCD displays to the US Department of Defense and other federal government agencies. We are looking to expand our products into both secure and public spaces within federal government agencies.
We wish this role to further target DOD leaders and Federal authorities to gain exposure to the Leyard/Planar brand of products and capabilities, so that our success in this market will be looked upon favorably, and projects will be designed and specified with Leyard/Planar products.
In addition to working closely and directly with key players in the Federal market, this position will also work closely with the local Leyard/Planar sales teams, Inside Sales, Product Marketing, and others to develop and expand our existing capabilities.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working opportunities directly, have experience in the federal procurement process, as well as working in concert with pro AV integrators, specifiers, and colleagues (Sales and other) throughout the Leyard/Planar organization.
This position will host our tradeshow booth at Federal government centric tradeshows. This role is also responsible to work with Leyard/Planar Marketing and Inside Sales to follow up on post tradeshow contacts, then follow up on any additional information required that was developed from these contacts.
• Identify, monitor and track new opportunities using a variety of US Government & commercial procurement portals such as FedBizOps, GovWin.
Develop winning proposals in response to government solicitations
Assist with weekly and monthly reports summarizing Business Development pipeline metrics and department activities
Qualifications and Education Requirements
5-10 years selling technical products or hardware to the Federal government
Must be familiar with federal government procurement process
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and must have a Top Secret U.S. government security clearance
Extensive Travel required, about 80% of the time
Valid Driver’s license, vehicle and liability insurance
Articulate in public speaking, presentations and in writing
• Experience preparing presentation materials and conveying analytical content.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel.
