Overview / Responsibilities
Wood (Amec Foster Wheeler Industrial Power Company, Inc.P) has a need to hire a Junior Buyer for our business at our Roswell office location.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue Expressions of Interest and Prequalification requests
- Assist with the complete Request for Quotation (RFQ) process
- Create for approval, bidder lists for assigned RFQ packages
- Assist with the negotiation, preparation, award and administration of purchase orders
- Identify and assist with implementation of supply chain cost savings initiatives
- Develop commercial bid evaluations and purchase recommendations
- Assist with the purchase order change management and close out processes
- Assist with expediting activities to ensure on-time delivery and report delivery status of all equipment, materials and supplier documentation for assigned purchase orders
- Manage the proper handling of purchasing support documentation and related files
- Apply corporate and local procurement policies, procedures and guidelines
- Provide supply chain support to clients and ensure that corporate and local procurement policies, procedures and guidelines are followed
- Identify and address issues related to the procurement process, escalating unresolved issues to the Supply Chain Manager
- Establish and maintain successful supplier relationships
- Interface with project teams (i.e. engineering, project management, project controls) as required
- Participate in client project meetings as required
Skills / Qualifications
- 1-3 years procurement experience
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Successful completion of a Technical Diploma, or a Business/Commerce Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
- SCMP/MCIPS designation would be considered an asset
- Understanding of procurement and project management methodologies
- Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to interface and communicate with various disciplines within Wood office; in a team environment
- Effective time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Candidate must live within the Roswell/Atlanta area or be willing to relocate at own expense
- Authorization to lawfully work in the United States without sponsorship from Wood is required
