This position is responsible for the efficient operation of cash handling of guest transfers for currency. The cage cashier will be responsible for assigned bank drawer(s) in accordance / compliance with departmental and casino policies and procedures.
This position ensures the confidentiality, security and accuracy of guest’s records, and promotes positive guest and team member relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and outstanding guest service to fellow team members, guests, vendors, etc. is expected. Regular attendance is required, and on occasion, later hours or weekend time may be required with project deadlines and a neat well-groomed professional appearance is essential at all times.
The essential function of the Cage Cashier includes but not limited to:
- Receive and exchange cash and gaming chips.
- Personal and payroll check cashing, process credit card, debit card and cash advances.
- Processes fill and credit transactions.
- Redemption of coupons and free play/comps as required from the player tracking system.
- Prepares cash drawer reconciliation and accounting records for their shift.
- Safeguards contents/assets in their assigned drawer/work area and is accountable / responsible for money handling procedures.
- Ensures compliance with all gaming regulations.
- Provides answers and information to guests as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
A High School Diploma or GED is required for this position.
SKILL, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum six (6) months of experience in high-volume cash handling operation, and/or a minimum of six (6) months experience as a casino cage cashier. Required to pass a math test with score greater than/equal to 80%.
High level of interpersonal skills required to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Must be flexible with shift and able to work any day including weekends and holidays, and any shift (day/swing/grave) as needed.
Must be a minimum of 21 years old and have the ability to obtain and retain a Washington State Class III Gaming License; successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle; feel; or grip objects, stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; stoop; crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions; repetitive motions. This person may regularly lift and/or move up to 30+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust to focus.

Primarily indoors and may be exposed to heavy smoke and fluctuations in temperature while in and around the Casino and/or Hotel. May also, from time-to-time be exposed to noise from slot machines, customers, music and public announcement system, as is common in a Casino and/or Hotel environment.
