The Instrument/Electrical Engineer is responsible for applying standard theories, techniques, concepts, and practices within the instrumentation/electrical discipline. This position specifies, orders, and oversees the installation of maintenance projects. Additionally, this position assists, champions, and supports major capital projects. The Instrument/Electrical Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting complex instrumentation, control and electrical problems involving refinery maintenance and reliability. The Instrument/Electrical Engineer defines program and documentation standards to ensure refinery reliability and equipment availability.

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrument Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field plus five (5) years of job related experience.
SIS Engineer Certification
Candidates must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credentials Card)
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. Candidates selected for employment must meet eligibility criteria to obtain a TWIC card.

Must have current valid drivers license.
Design moderately complex instrumentation systems for refinery maintenance and capital projects, including field and control room instrumentation specifications.
Support Instrumentation Maintenance Technicians with complex field problems. Assist in technical training and craftsmen technical skills development.
Develop, review, and modify refinery instrumentation standards.
Assist in Turnaround work scope development.
Develop, submit, and track Engineering Work Requests for instrumentation capital improvement projects.
Evaluate new instrumentation technologies to improve existing systems and resolve safety and process problems.
Act as instrumentation subject matter expert during internal and external audits, regulatory investigations, unit PHAs, and other refinery special projects.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis on instrument incidents and investigations.
Manage SIS and Critical Instrument lists and testing schedules.
Provide SIS expertise to refinery including LOPA studies, SRS, and safety system specifications.
