WSP is currently initiating a search for aCEI Construction Superintendentto work out of any of WSP's Texas office locations, which includes Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin.
+ Under direction, provides technical support to Project Managers and Resident Engineers in all aspects of construction engineering to manage project construction observation and documentation activities, monitoring contractors' substantial compliance with contract, plans, specifications and special provisions and determining project quality, cost, and adherence to established completion schedule.
+ Plans and organizes the observation and documentation of construction projects.
+ Participates in and promotes WSP’s safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
+ Oversees engineering and inspection field staff activities and provides advanced technical assistance in resolving construction problems
+ Schedules and coordinates observation of ongoing work and testing and sampling of materials.
+ Monitors contracting, construction record-keeping and construction records auditing activities for single or multiple construction projects.
+ Assigns, leads and supervises staff engaged in construction observation and testing and in related record keeping.
+ Monitors contractors' progress against schedule and prepares progress reports.
+ Reviews payment requests and determines amount owing to contractor(s) based on on-site observations and contract requirements.
+ Oversees compilation of final estimate documents.
+ Performs or assists in performing constructability reviews of construction plans.
+ Assist in identifying and recruitment of team personnel.
+ As assigned, supports team marketing efforts to secure new project assignments.
+ Establish, maintain, and leverage relationships with local public agency technical staff, customers, and partner inspection and testing companies.
+ Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

# Job Requirements
+ High School Diploma and a minimum of 12 years related experience including personnel supervision.
+ TxDOT Precertification in Work Category 11.3.1 or demonstrable experience to obtain this precertification within 6 months.
+ Relevant TxDOT roadway, bridges and structures construction inspection experience.
+ Experience verifying construction steel reinforcement placement, concrete placement, drill shaft/pile driving, drainage structure placement, subgrade and base construction, signalization, CTMS, lighting, etc.
+ Experience interpreting TxDOT roadway construction plans, specifications and special provisions.
+ Experience resolving differences in interpretation of construction plans and/or specifications.
+ Experience working with TxDOT 2014 specifications.
+ Experience performing SW3P inspection and preparing documentation requirements.
+ Experience compiling and maintaining SW3P working plan set.
+ Experience monitoring construction phasing and TCPs.
+ Experience identifying and developing TCP recommendations to enhance traffic operations during construction.
+ Experience performing field measurements to develop pay quantities and pay sheets for actual work completed by the Contractor.
+ Experience using TxDOT Site Manager to record daily activity of work in progress and status of completion.
+ Experience assisting with the preparation of monthly estimates and resolving un-installed pay work.
+ Experience developing quantities calculations for change orders.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
+ Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
+ P.E. or CCM desirable but not required.
+ Bachelor's or Associates degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field desirable
+ Some engineering design experience desirable.
