SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
*1. The CSS Technician is responsible for receiving, cleaning, processing, assembly and distribution of medical supplies, equipment and surgical instruments.
*2. Prepares, assembles and packages all medical equipment and instruments for surgery and other hospital departments including the restocking of code carts and isolation carts using the exchange cart system.
*3. Sterilizes all reusable equipment, supplies and instrumentation, and maintains and operates Central Sterile equipment.
*4. Handles, transports and stores sterile equipment, instruments and supplies and pulls supplies and instruments for surgical cases using the case cart system.
5. Helps direct the work flow in Central Sterile Supply, setting priorities and meeting deadlines for the department.
