Check-Out Receptionist for Front Desk
We are currently seeking an experienced, results-driven individual to be our next Check-out Receptionist to join our team in our Miami, FL 33183 location.

We are a multi-specialty medical group and have been in business for over 25 years. We are family owned and operated. We see a total of 60-80 patients per day and have 5 providers. We provide excellent care health to our patients of all ages, from babies to centenarians, turn to us for high-quality health care, skilled medical professionals, and friendly staff.
About the Role:
The Check-Out Receptionist is responsible for greeting patients as they check-out and offer them friendly and prompt assistance while coordinating the patients care. The Check-Out Receptionist will review the provider’s orders to determine the necessary treatment plan. At checkout follow up appointments are scheduled with the patient.
Appointments are scheduled or arrangements are made for diagnostic testing. Dictations are sent to the referring and primary care doctors and the clinical summaries are exported at check-out. Outstanding balances are collected for coinsurances.
What you’ll do:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
* Checks out patients and completes the patient tracking in the EMR
* Schedules patient appointments within operational standards and documents appropriately
* Collects outstanding balances, coinsurances, deductibles, co-pays and provides pricing and collect payments for self-pay patients that are owed at the time of checkout
* Accurately post payments and provide receipts to patients
* Reconciles individual daily receipts and money collected with end of day reports to confirm money balances and then prepare daily balance report
* Prepares superbills to be sent to billing for charge posting
* Follows all balancing and collection protocols established by practice
* Batches credit card machine at the end of every day
* Makes sure all orders for diagnostic testing are scheduled; obtains benefits and authorizations and schedules the test
* Takes care of any patient account issues and questions.
* Answers the phones - schedule/reschedule appointments
* Obtains referrals for outstanding services that were not able to be obtained prior to visit due to insurance requirements
* Obtains signed ABN consent forms for private services performed in office
* Assists staff with scheduling conflicts and emergencies
* Works with FAA Medical Providers on transmitting exams to the FAA and defer Pilots with restrictions
* Manages the ATC exams and payments
* Notifies and promotes the patient portal via our website with the patients
* Counts petty cash to ensure accuracy and document on log daily
* Opens and distributes mail as assigned by office manager
* Scans documents and imports faxes
* Completes all task within the timelines established by the practice.
* Maintains accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information by verifying this information at each patient encounter
* Keeps Check-Out Desk clean and neat
* Distributes delivery boxes to appropriate staff and unpacks Front Office boxes and distribute
* Locks front door and turns off television at the end of clinic
* Answers the telephone in a warm, friendly manner. Answers the back line within a few rings
* Directs urgent calls to the triage nurse or office manager and ensure that action is taken
* Obtains accurate and complete information for hospital consults and forwards to the appropriate Medical Assistant/Physician according to practice protocols
* Addresses patient portal tasks according to practice protocols and manage PrimeSuite Email timely
* Maintains patient confidentiality
* Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Our Perfect Candidate
Education and Experience:
* High school diploma
* Insurance experience required (preferably in verification of benefits)
* Must be well experienced in medical billing and coding
* Must know EMR/EHR (Electronic Medical Records/Electronic Health Records)
* Work schedule is Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm
* Experienced with ProMD Billing Software a plus
* Experienced with Greenway PriemerSuite a plus
* Experienced with Medicare and Medicaid and its policy and procedures
* Bilingual in English and Spanish required
