Poydras Home is seeking an innovative, dynamic individual, committed to the care of seniors to serve as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organization. This individual will report to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for leading the organization to achieve the strategic vision and direction for the future. The CEO will need to possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, business and financial acumen and the ability to serve as a leader representing Poydras Home in New Orleans and the senior care industry. He/she must align with the mission and values of Poydras Home with a demonstrated commitment to senior care.
From its beginning, in 1817 with the generous donation of property from Julien Poydras, as an orphanage, to its current direction of caring for the elderly in 1958, Poydras Home has been a leader in health care in the greater New Orleans region for over 200 years. Now moving into its third century, guided by the steady judgement and leadership of an all women Board, Poydras Home is well known as a premier, not-for-profit healthcare provider for seniors and their families, providing personalized care and innovative programming in an intimate and compassionate community. Chief Executive Officer Role Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will serve as the senior leader of Poydras Home, reporting to the Board of Trustees. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic direction as set forth by the Board, supervising the executive team of the organization and having a strong presence and reputation in the community as an expert thought leader in senior care. In order to achieve these objectives, it is important that this person be a strategic thinker focused on the future possibilities for Poydras Home, someone who leads by influence to promote the desired internal culture for patients, families and employees and a strong advocate for the organization externally through community involvement creating development opportunities and telling the Poydras Home story.
