Job Summary: The Chief Financial Officer is charged with maintaining the financial stability of the Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital. Responsible for the annual budget process for the hospital including recommending financial targets to support the operating and capital needs of the organization. Responsible for overall capital structure of the hospital including recommending targets for types and amounts of financing.
Required: Masters Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting. Preferred:
Experience: Required: Five years progressively responsible experience in healthcare finance in a hospital or health system is required. The person must possess knowledge and experience in managed care, risk management, health information management, patient financial services, accounting, and overall hospital operations.
Preferred: Critical access hospital experience.

Department Position Summary: The CFO-Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital is an active member of the management team of the hospital with overall responsibility for short and long term financial planning and compliance within areas of responsibility. The CFO-EWC Hospital is responsible for the annual budgeting process for the hospital including making recommendations concerning the required net income to support operations and capital needs. The CFO-EWC Hospital has to have a broad understanding of the operations of the organization to match service requirements to financial realities. Must be flexible to meet the changing needs of the organization and its patients. The CFO-EWC Hospital is responsible for oversight of the financial statements and information to generate the cost report. Critical access hospital reimbursement knowledge is important to ensure appropriate accounting handling.
